Founded in 1967 DIAL AN ANGEL grew quickly from a one person, one-telephone office to 12 offices nationwide, four of which are franchises. The parent Company now employs 50 full-time staff with over 10,000 registered 'Angels' providing quality home and family care to tens of thousands of satisfied clients.
Danielle Robertson, CEO of the Company believes that a vital ingredient in the continued success of the business is the family's assertion that field workers should regard their vocation as being honourable, valuable to the entire community and view homemaking as a real skill. "There are no 'down-trodden Sadies' registered with us because DIAL-AN-ANGEL staff expect our clients to treat the Angels with consideration and courtesy. High standards in conditions and remuneration have been established and unreasonable requests and unfair practices are actively discouraged", said Danielle.
So who are the Angels? They come from all walks of life but are primarily caring people and skilled, competent homemakers. Many are young mothers with children at school who have a few hours to spare; all are houseproud homemakers; some are active, youthful, caring 'grans'; others are care-workers; nurses; final year Uni students studying social work, medicine, physiotherapy and nursing.
"We are always seeking to register new Angels. They can be mums with grown children, active grandmothers who want to stay that way mentally and physically and granddads, who enjoy driving, working in the garden and around the home. The Angels come in all age groups, shapes and sizes, but the one thing they all have in common is that they really are the best!" boasts Danielle.
Who needs the help? Most everyone! Busy working couples; sole parents with work commitments; time-wise clients who are relieved of household chores and handyman-gardening services; the frail aged; convalescing early discharge patients; those with disabilities and even executives who like to entertain at home prefer to use Angels for their Home Entertaining as well as for their Corporate Functions. As Danielle says, "we can do almost anything, send us your challenges, we thrive on them!"
